First, make your site public. You should be able to do this just like it is done in Google Drive. If you want to make it only public to those with a link, that is fine. Paste a link to your homepage on our sharing page!
Now that you have started your site, let’s keep building. Work on copy and pasting all the work you did in your Google Document into your new Google Site. Try to make the pages in 2 column layout (ask for help if you can’t find it) so you can have text on one side and pictures on the other. You will need to be specific on which pictures you use. You cannot take someone’s personal pictures or pictures that have a copyright label on them or watermark over the top of them on whatever page you find them posted on. You will need to cite the pages you borrow pictures from by putting the site link underneath the picture.
Here are two examples of what kind of work I am expecting: Alaska and Italy. Notice that the Alaska site has links under the images, while the Italy site has links to each image in the bibliography.
Use http://easybib.com to create your bibliography. You will need to go to the website to make sure that you are properly citing your sources and including all of the correct information, especially the author and the copyright date. Remember: this page is live on the internet. If you plagiarize someone’s work, they will be able to find you and prosecute you for not giving credit to them!
Once you are happy with your 6 (at least) pages, and have all of your sources noted on your bibliography page, go to work on your quiz page. The quiz part is easy for you – create a quiz with 7-10 questions based on your website in Google Forms. Include a title and be sure to select a theme. I would encourage a lot of multiple choice or scale questions, as the data from those questions will show up in graphs when you look at your summary page. Text answer questions will not create graphs of your answers.
When finished, embed the Google Form on the Quiz Page of your Google Site. How? It’s easy. When you are looking at the spreadsheet of your Form, click the “Form” option, followed by the option that says “Embed.” Copy the link that appears and paste it into your Quiz page on the HTML side. Again, ask for help if you have trouble finding it.
Remember my requirements!
At least 6 pages on your site
You use at least 3 different credible sources (Wikipedia is not an option for all 3 - it can be used once!)
You have at least two solid paragraphs for every page on your website
Each page has a different picture on it that fits with the theme of the page
You include at least 7-10 SOLID questions on your quiz page
